Harnaam Kaur: La primera "mujer barbuda" en ser parte de una pasarela

Hace aproximadamente dos años el nombre de Harnaam Kaur comenzó a sonar fuerte alrededor del mundo, luego de que se conociera su interesante historia, que la convirtió en víctima de bullying durante su adolescencia.

Cuando tenía solo 11 años, la joven fue detectada de tener ovario poliquístico, lo que provocó un desbalance hormonal que hacía crecer sus vellos de la cara y su pecho más rápido de lo común en las mujeres. Tras esto, comenzó a convertirse en la burla de sus amigos, llegando al punto de querer suicidarse.

Sin embargo, eso es algo que quedó en el pasado y hoy se siente bien de mostrarse tal y como es. Así lo señaló a la revista "Rock n’ Roll Bride", donde dijo que: "Decidí dejarme la barba y seguir adelante, en contra de las expectativas... Hoy soy feliz viviendo como una joven y hermosa mujer barbuda".

Y así de feliz se mostró durante éstos días, tras ser parte del desfile "Royal Fashion Day" en Londres, para mostrar la colección de joyas de la diseñadora Marianna Harutunian. Por eso, compartió en su instagram las fotos de ese día especial, acompañadas de un importante mensaje que llamaron la atención de sus más de 55 mil seguidores.

¡Se ha convertido en la inspiración de muchos jóvenes!

I grew up watching America's next top model, and i admired @tyrabanks whole heartedly. I always wanted to be like the pretty models, so i remember copying the way they posed and walked. I grew up being told i was to fat, ugly, and disgusting to even model. I was told i'd never walk the runway. I used to look at models and tell myself that i will never ever be able to do what they are doing. I am not pretty enough or beautiful enough and i dont have the 'right' body type. I was laughed at when i said i wanted to model. Jokes on my bullies. I was lucky enough to walk for @mariannaharutunian as the first bearded lady to walk for a celebrity jewellery designer. I was humbled to be the first model to walk and open the show for #royalfashionday with the portrait of the legendary #davidbowie looking down on me! Every path is my runway! I am finally back home from Paris. I have met some amazing people on the streets. I have drank some amazing wine and champagne. I have eaten some fab food and deserts. I met some lovely lady street workers who loved my beard. I met some awesome people at Canal Plus and the interview went awesome. It is one of my favourite interviews ever. I can't believe just how big the show that i am in is, even the presenter (my interviewer) is a huge celeb out there. It was sooo much fun and i loved the audience. I hope to work more in Paris. I visited my modelling agency out in Paris, and everyone was just soo awesome; casting was fab too. Notre dame, moulin rouge, eiffel tower and other places that i saw made my heart flutter. I have always wanted to see the Eiffel tower ever since i was a child, it was a dream, so when i finally saw her, i cried. *Dreams do come true* The fabulous Daya toured with me everywhere and made my stay sooooo much fun.
